Annual Awards: please vote!

Since it went back to winter again this week, it should at least put you in the mood to think about skiing, even if we can’t actually do it.

Tomorrow, Sunday March 20, 2016, is the deadline for nominations for the 2015-2016 CCSAM Annual Awards.  It’s very simple.  Just think of people in our ski community to nominate… and let CCSAM know about them!  They deserve some recognition.

We hope you will celebrate with us on Saturday April 9th at Rossmere Country Club. Awards to begin at ~7:00 PM right after dinner.

Choices of Awards as follows:
Volunteer – Awarded to an individual whose volunteerism demonstrated an unsurpassed dedication and commitment to the development and betterment of cross country skiing in Manitoba.
Sport Builder – Awarded to an individual or group with demonstrated success in either creating or expanding an existing cross country ski program in their community.
Family – To recognize the families in the CCSAM ski community who make a difference with their positive attitude, community spirit and volunteerism. Awarded to a family of cross country ski enthusiasts.
Coach – For the coach with outstanding leadership skills, demonstrated commitment to safe and ethical coaching practices and a positive, balanced approach to coaching.
Club – For the CCSAM club demonstrating a commitment to developing quality cross country ski programs in their community.
Senior Skier – For overall performance excellence at the Provincial, National and International competition level.
Junior Skier – For overall performance excellence at the Provincial, National and International competition level. Athletes must be in the Midget, Juvenile or Junior competition category.
Master Skier – For overall performance excellence at the Provincial, National and International competition level.
Most Improved Skier – For the athlete showing a significant improvement from the previous year based on race results or other criteria deemed commendable by the Awards Committee.
Special Recognition (provide detail below). For individuals who have made an outstanding contribution to the sport of cross country skiing in Manitoba. These are awarded at the discretion of the Awards Committee based on nominations.
